MetaTalk terms and acceptable use

Version talk_policy v0.1

Draft under attorney review. These terms may change before MetaTalk opens to the public.

MetaTalk is free crew and volunteer voice communication from MetaCool Systems LLC, offered free through December 31, 2026.

1. Not 911

MetaTalk does not replace 911, emergency services, or your radios. In an emergency, call 911 first.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. Use your real name. The person who starts a group is responsible for who they invite and can remove people.

3. Messages disappear

Live Crew Talk is not recorded. A voice message (and any picture with it) disappears once the people it went to confirm it, or after 24 hours. We keep only who sent it, to whom, when, and who confirmed, not what was said. A message someone reports is held for 30 days for review, and we release it to law enforcement only when legally required to, such as by subpoena, warrant, or court order, or when someone is in immediate danger. We can't stop someone from recording their own phone.

4. Location

Sharing your location is your choice when you join. If you say yes, your group's leaders can see where you are while you are signed in. You can turn it off in the app.

5. Not allowed

No illegal activity of any kind, including buying or selling drugs, weapons, or sex. No threats, harassment, or hate. No sexual content. Nothing involving the exploitation of a child; we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as the law requires. No pretending to be police, fire, or a government agency. No spam or selling.

6. What we do about it

Group leaders can mute or remove people. MetaCool can suspend or ban a person or close a group at any time, without notice. Anyone can report a problem in the app.

7. Your information

We keep your name, email, phone number, group, and the records the app makes. We do not sell your personal information. We may tell you about other MetaCool products. See our privacy policy.

8. No guarantee

MetaTalk is free and in testing. It may stop, drop calls, or lose coverage. Do not depend on it alone for safety.

9. Changes

We may change these terms. We will show the new version the next time you sign in.
